Mr. Russell became President of Legal Investigations in 1988 and has been a licensed investigator since 1978. Mr. Russell is a graduate of Frostburg State University and received his Masters Degree in Forensic Science from George Washington University in 1984. He is a graduate of the Maryland Institute of Criminal Justice and a licensed polygraph examiner in the State of Virginia. Mr. Russell is the Compliance Agent and Qualifying Agent for Legal Investigations and has conducted investigations throughout many states in the country. He has testified as a child recovery expert and a domestic relations expert and has worked on over 12,000 cases involving criminal defense, insurance defense, and domestic related matters, nationally and internationally. Mr. Russell places emphasis on leadership, teamwork, ethics and core values which has been the force behind Legal Investigations Inc.

Mr. Russell is a member of the National Association of Legal Investigators (NALI), an Associate Member of Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE), Private Investigators Association of Virginia (PIVA), the National Association of Investigative Specialist (NAIS), Investigators Online (ION), Maryland Investigators and Security Association (MISA), Council of International Investigators (CII), American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and recipient of the Meritorious Service Award in Charles County, Maryland.

Mr. Alpert is the Vice President and Field Manager for Legal Investigations. He is a 1993 graduate of the University of Maryland, with a B.A. degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Mr. Alpert is also a graduate of the Northern Virginia Security Academy, and maintains licenses in MD, DC, and VA in addition to holding a compliance agent certification in Virginia. He has testified extensively on insurance defense matters, as well as domestic relations matters. He has worked nationally in over 35 states and internationally on domestic relations matters.

Mr. Alpert is a member of the National Association of Legal Investigators (NALI), Private Investigators Alliance of Maryland (PIAM), National Association of Certified Investigators (NACI),  Council of International Investigators (CII). Mr. Alpert has been with the firm since 1993.

Mr. Lettmann is the secretary and chief investigator for Legal Investigations. He is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University College of Law Enforcement with a B.S. degree in Asset Protection; Investigations. Mr. Lettmann is also a graduate of the Northern Virginia Security Academy and maintains licenses in MD, DC, and VA. He has testified on numerous insurance defense and domestic relations matters and has conducted surveillance both nationally and internationally.

Mr. Lettmann is a member of the National Association of Legal Investigations (NALI), Private Investigators Association of Virginia (PIVA), Council of International Investigators (CII) and American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS).

Ms. Plymale’s unique qualifications as both a licensed investigator and experienced interpreter have provided LII the opportunity to serve local, national and international clientele. Ms. Plymale is a graduate of George Mason University with a B.A. degree in both International Affairs and French. Ms. Plymale has over 15 years experience in market assessment and research. She oversees the marketing department and is closely involved with our customers to maintain a healthy and beneficial relationship.

All LII investigators are full time, fully insured employees. We additionally have part time personnel for special operation investigations. Our investigators have either a degree in the Criminal Justice field, prior law enforcement or military experience. All investigators have undergone a background investigation and are licensed in our coverage areas. Each investigator has had extensive classroom and fieldwork training with annual training. Investigators use state-of-the-art technology, so they can provide our customers with the superior level of performance.
